In 1999, over 125 members of The Stroke Network, decided that they wanted to do something to raise stroke awareness.  They decided they could make a strong statement by making quilts.

What made these quilts special was that each member created a 12" x 12" quilt square.  The square's designs were made to represent what their quilt square represents to them.  The squares were designed and actually made by the stroke survivor or their stroke caregiver.  In addition to designing and creating individual quilt squares, each project member submitted their explanation of what their square represents to them, along with other pertinent information. 

The quilt squares were all gathered and sent to a Quilt Maker, who fabricated five 5' x 7' quilts.  After the quilts were fabricated, each quilt was taken on a different path to help raise stroke awareness. The details of those paths are shown in the table below and on the following pages.
